What is differences between CBD and Hemp?

The main difference between CBD and Hemp is that Hemp does not contain CBD. CBD and hemp oils are made from different parts of the plant and have different purposes. CBD is a compound found in industrial hemp, and we utilize a whole plant CO2 extraction that allows us to draw the CBD from the plant material and filter out unnatural substances, maximizing pure CBD concentration. While CBD is extracted from the entire plant, minus the seeds, hemp is extracted only from the seeds. Hemp oil is made from pressing hemp seeds and is used in a variety of products. Hemp-seed oil is used as a protein supplement for food, as varnish for wood and, because of its remedial properties for hair and skin, as an ingredient in lotion and soap products. You can buy hemp-seed oil online or at certain food stores, where you can learn about more ways to incorporate it into your diet and hygiene. CBD oil is generally used for medicinal purposes and has shown great promise in treating inflammation, pain, sleeping disorders and even certain types of epileptic seizures.

CBD is one of over 118 natural occurring chemical compounds found in a Hemp plant. A hemp plant has a phytocannabinoid profile that contains cannabinoids, terpenes, and other natural occurring compounds. There have been over 85 cannabinoids discovered in a Hemp plant, two of the most well known are Cannabidiol (CBD), which is non-psychoactive and Thetrahydrocannabidiol (THC), which is the only cannabinoid in the plant that gives a person a feeling of a euphoric high.

A Hemp based CBD oil, is a CBD oil that has been processed from a hemp plant, specifically the flower, seeds, and stalks of the plant. This is very different from Hemp Seed oil, which is oil that has been pressed from the seeds of a Hemp plant and has its own health benefits.

Hemp based CBD oil can be extracted using a variety of means, the most common is using the method of a Supercritical CO2 machine that allows for a clean CBD oil to be produced. There are many others ways that the CBD oil can be extracted to produce one of two categories of CBD oil: Isolate and Full-Spectrum.

Isolate CBD is processed in a way that only the cannabinoid CBD has been extracted from the plant and can be consumed or used in a variety of ways. A full-spectrum CBD oil is a CBD oil that has been extracted from the whole plant and has a full phytocannabionid profile, meaning that it contains all the natural occurring chemical compounds that could be present in the plant. A full-spectrum Hemp CBD could also have trace amounts of THC, but always fall under the legal limit of .03%. Deciding which type of Hemp CBD oil to use all depends on the individual’s opinion and desire. Much research has been written about both that can be reviewed for further information.

CBD Life only carries products that are considered to be Full-Spectrum Hemp based CBD.

Hemp CBD oil is very versatile and can be taken and used in a variety of ways, such as: tinctures, topicals, capsules, patches, edibles, roll-on, bath bombs, etc. The oils can also be found in a variety of doses ranging from 10mg-1,000mg+, again researching which milligram to start as would be helpful.

How does CBD works?

Did you know we actually produce cannabinoids inside of our bodies and have an actual system of them working together? What are cannabinoids you say? In easy terms, think of cannabinoids as little soldiers in your body fighting to keep everything balanced in there.

Everything on earth with a vertebrate has what is called an ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM or ECS that produces these little soldiers. This system is a relatively new discovery in the human and animal body that many are still completely unaware of. Like the nervous system and immune system, the ECS has specific duties. It is in charge of regulating homeostasis or maintaining balance in the body by producing your very own army of cannabinoid soldiers. It regulates things like mood, memory, motor control, pain perception, appetite, and sleep, just to name a few.

Unfortunately, like everything else in the body, the ECS wears out as we age and has trouble maintaining balance. Injury and disease also influence the ECS throwing our bodies even further out of balance. As we age, we run low on cannabinoids and can even become cannabinoid deficient. So how do we replenish our little cannabinoid soldiers? Well the last time you received cannabinoids was from your mother’s milk at infancy! Most of us don’t have mother’s milk available on the drink menu, so where else can we get them?

Yes, from the cannabis/hemp plant where cannabinoid soldiers are grown from the soil!

CBD is the most prevalent of over 100 different phyto-cannabinoids found in the cannabis/hemp plant; (phyto meaning plant) These plant-based cannabinoids naturally stimulate your ECS by giving it reinforcements! Once you use CBD and your army of cannabinoids is fresh, the body re-balances. Do you have chronic anxiety? Your body is out of balance. CBD as a plant soldier stimulates your bodies’ natural defenses to rebalance and help soothe the ailment.

No pills, no dangerous chemicals, just a natural reinforcement that the earth gave us..

Will CBD products get me high?

NO. They will not get you high. CBD is non-psychoactive and our products contain zero or less than 0.3 THC, guaranteed.

Dosing - How much should you take?
  • Decide how you want to take cannabis. Cannabis oil is available in sprays, capsules, edibles and other products.
  • Find your ratio. Cannabis products have varying amounts of CBD and THC. A high CBD or high THCproduct is not necessarily superior to a strain with a balanced ratio. Find the proper combination to optimize your therapeutic use of cannabis.
  • Begin with a low dose especially if you have little or no experience with cannabis.
  • Take a few small doses over the course of the day rather than one big dose .
  • Use the same dose and ratio for several days. Observe the effects and if necessary adjust the ratio or amount.
  • Don’t overdo it. “Less is more” is often the case with cannabis therapeutics.
  • Consult your health counselor. Proceed cautiously, especially if you have a history of alcohol or drug abuse, mental illness, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do your products have THC in them?
We carry products with no THC as well as products that contain .3% THC (Which is under the legal dosage of THC)
Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD oil?
It depends on the testing standards of the lab administering your drug test. Most companies only search for the cannabinoid THC, which is the main psychoactive component of the marijuana plant. While CBD Live Natural products are THC free or contain .3% THC (Which is under the legal dosage of THC), there are some testing facilities that check for a spectrum of cannabinoids and could trigger a positive drug test. By law, you are allowed to ask the facility what cannabinoids they test for. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can call and ask anonymously. We suggest contacting the testing facility if there is any concern.
